The walk and the Wat

We left home early at 8.30am to walk to the National Museum but we saw many different happenings around the streets of Phnom Penh. Here are some more of the markets.

Pineapples for sale (we didn't get any, Mum didn't want to haul them around Phnom Penh again today)

Frying with a wok - the food smelled delicious

Pineapples for sale - again

fried foods that smelt SO good at the markets

No leaves are on the main garden parks in Phnom Penh

Lotus seller outside the Wat

We walked past a Wat were the monks were blessing people. A very old lady was blessed and as she left the Wat there were children waiting outside for money. The old lady and her son had smiles on their faces as they handed riel to the kids who were thanking them with sompiahs. A sompiah is when you put two hands together and put them up to below your chin. Oh and riel is the Cambodian currency. 4,000 riel = 1$ US
