Bike ride & mud

Mum remembered when she was here 17 years ago she hired a bike and went exploring before sunset. She wanted to do it again. It started off really well, we rode across dirt tracks, over a bamboo pole bridge (which was missing 5 poles so we had to lift the bikes over), and down to the beach.

We kept riding and riding when we realised we were going in the wrong direction. We kept going, as buffaloes emerged from another trail.

Mum had a "great" idea to go a short cut because we could see the hotel in the distance. We turned the bikes off the track and went towards the mangrove mud which was the size of 3 soccer fields. I did see mud skippers.

We kept going and the bike tyres were going deeper into the mud, so were our boots. It was impossible to ride.
It started okay.

Then it didn't. I almost lost my boots five times and Mum was taking photos and laughing! Next time she doesn't like doing something, I will take photos of her - and laugh!
